Article 7 – Indian Spices
Spices add more taste, color and flavor to the food. India is the largest producer and exporter of spices. Most of the spices are produced in India from ancient era. Different types of spices are grown in different parts of India. Ex: 1. Pepper is grown in Kerala, Karnataka and many more other states of India. 2. Mainly turmeric is grown in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Orissa. 3. Chili in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and many other states. Some examples of spices are Pepper, Ginger, Turmeric, Chili, Coriander and Fenugreek etc.
Some spices are used as medicines like turmeric, garlic, ginger, cardamom, cloves and pepper etc.
