Article 32 – History of Indian Spices

We know that in olden days [medieval time] Western countries lacked in spices. In mid European countries such as Portugal, United Kingdom, France etc the spices were rarely grown and harvested and they were available in high prices which was not affordable by everybody. In medieval period India was famous for its spices most of the spices were grown and harvested in southern states such as Karnataka, Kerala , Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh etc . Most of the Europeans were attracted to India for its spices. British were one them were attracted to India for its spices. Portuguese such as Vasco De Gama who game to India in search of spices. In olden days the spices such as pepper, coriander, cloves, cinnamon etc were grown in bulk when a British  saw it he started buying that and selling it in high prices. So by this we can say that people in olden days came to India to take there necessary product but now it is available in every country so this was our resource which was available in our country we should preserve it.
